I am a licensed clinical psychologist at the VA Palo Alto Health Care System, where I work as a Suicide Prevention Coordinator and LGBTQ+ Veteran Care Coordinator. I completed clinical training in four different VA hospitals, including an APA-accredited internship and postdoctoral residency. I also consult for organizations interested in diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging initiatives, both in the VA and externally.
Since 2011, I have been in the mental health field and have maintained a fierce commitment to social justice. I am fortunate enough to have been published in several treatment manuals on topics related to gender diverse youth, substance use disorders, body dysmorphia, and non-heterosexual relationships, and I have instructed others on topics such as intersectionality and feminist therapy. My areas of interest include multiculturalism; diversity, equity, and inclusion training; LGBTQ+ issues; health disparities; minority stress; transgender health; serious mental illness; PTSD and trauma; Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT); feminist therapy; suicide prevention; program development and evaluation; telemental health; consultation and supervision.
I earned a Bachelors degree in the Honors Psychology program at Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton, Florida, where I graduated cum laude. I then received my Masters and Doctoral degrees in Clinical Psychology from Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, where I was a student in the Multicultural/Diversity Track. My doctoral internship was at the James J. Peters VAMC in Bronx, NY and my postdoctoral residency in LGBTQ Interprofessional Health was completed at the San Francisco VA. I am currently based out of San Francisco, CA.
