Margaret "Margey" DeCuir
As a queer therapist, I take pride in creating a safe space for LGBTQIA+ individuals to explore and better understand themselves as sexual beings. Whether you are navigating your sexual orientation, relationship dynamics, or personal fetishes or simply want a welcoming environment to express your queerness while receiving therapy, I am here for you.
I identify as a Queer, ENM, libratory, somatic therapist and specialize in supporting folks in the LQBTQIA+, kink, SW, and ENM communities. I especially enjoy working with adolescents, young adults, and couples of all ages, genders, and orientations.
Fundamentally, I believe that no one is broken. We are not to be fixed; instead, we must tend to our wounds with a nurturing, thoughtful, and sometimes humorous approach. Beginning Therapy is taking a step toward yourself. Therapy is a form of self-care, a choice to make time for self-reflection, intentional connection, and body-mind integration and healing.
I modify my techniques and approaches to each client’s needs and goals. Primarily, I work relationally, holding the therapeutic relationship as a foundation for growth and deep reflection. The warmth and safety we cocreate are catalysts for healing and progress. I am an engaged therapist with a direct, caring demeanor. Using mindfulness, somatic awareness, skill building, resourcing, thoughtful inquiry, and a little humor, I will support you in embracing your unique genius.
I believe you have the expertise and wisdom required to heal. As a clinician, I aim to maintain a safe, nonjudgmental space that allows you to know and accept yourself more fully. We will work together, utilizing collaborative dialogue and integrative body-mind explorations to reveal and nurture those tender parts longing to be seen and heard.
